Well, Diet has become such an ubiquitous term in our lives AS WE ARE LIVING LIFE IN THE FASSSST LANE AWAY FROM THE NATURE.

In reality, nature takes care of every new born & growing ones by its own laws. With years of neglect and detatchment from natural food & activities, adults have found it necessary to use the diet programs for weight control.

But, are diet programs good for kids?

  • Kids should not be following a diet program meant for adults – It might have an adverse affect on other supporting organs
  • The metabolic rate of kids is extremely high compared to adults – So, if they take natural & normal diet, their body will burn enough fuel to burn fat
  • In extremely urgent situations (obesity issues), the parents should tailor a diet in consultation with an expert dietitian
  • Never let the Kids skip meals
  • Parents can create their home made diet program which might be based on food group variations..These include:
    • fruits and vegetables
    • milk and dairy products
    • meat, nuts, and other protein-rich foods
    • grains, especially whole-grain foods, such as whole-grain breads and cereals
